United Kingdom: Spice Girls for 2012?

Just a week after it was rumoured David Hasselhoff would take part in the Eurovision Song Contest, another world name is in the gossip mills. Namely, the former popular girlband, Spice Girls, is said to be interested in taking part in Europe's favourite TV-show.According to several media publications all over Europe, Geri Halliwell, member of the band, has proposed a reunion for the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest.
According to the sources, Halliwell thinks the Spice Girls could do what the 2011 United Kingdom contestant, Blue, couldn't and bring home the victory.
So far, not the band nor the UK broadcaster, BBC, have confirmed nor denied the rumours.
The Spice Girls were a British pop girl group formed in 1994. The group consisted of Victoria Beckham (née Adams), Melanie Brown, Emma Bunton, Melanie Chisholm and Geri Halliwell .
They were signed to Virgin Records and released their debut single, Wannabe in 1996, which hit number-one in more than 30 countries and helped establish the group as a global phenomenon.
Credited for being the pioneers that paved the way for the commercial breakthrough of teen pop in the late 1990s, their debut album, Spice, sold more than 23 million copies worldwide, becoming the best-selling album by a female group in music history.

Our readers like the Tofiq Bahramov Stadium for host the next Eurovision

A poll realized in our web, show us that the 65% of the people like the Tofiq Bahramov Stadium as venue of Baku 2012.

On 16 May 2011, it was announced that a special concert complex with 20,000 seats for Eurovision 2012 is to be built near National Flag Square in Baku. Furthermore, Baku Boulevard will be extended to the National Flag Square before the beginning of the contest. However, on 19 May 2011, organisers announced that they may use the Tofiq Bahramov Stadium which contains 37,000 seats, or the Heydar Aliyev Sports and Exhibition Complex. On 4 August 2011, it was confirmed that the laying of foundations for the Baku Concert Arena has started near the National Flag Square. Tofiq Bahramov Stadium, which is currently under repairs to host the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in September-October 2012, will be used as a back-up option.
The Baku Concert Arena would have around 50.000 seats.

Cyprus: CyBC confirms Ivi Adamou In Baku

The first contestant of the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 has been internally selected by the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation (CyBC). Ivi Adamou won the Cypriot ticket to Baku and will get the chance to represent the Eastern Mediterranean country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2012.
Cyprus is the first country to announce their representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 to be held in Baku, Azerbaijan. Popular singer Ivi Adamou was selected internally by the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation CyBC to perform on the Eurovision stage. It is still unknown how the songs will be chosen but it's likely that a national final will be held in order to determine the winning entry.
Ivi Adamou is a popular Cypriot singer who rose to fame after participating in the Greek version of the X Factor show where she placed 8th. During her participation in the show she was mentored by Cypriot composer Giorgos Theofanous who signed the music for his country's Eurovision entries in 1992, 1994 and 2002.
